ARO Breaks Ground on New Production Facility
Alpine Research
Optics (ARO, Boulder, CO) has begun construction on a new 35,000 square
foot building located in Boulder, Colorado. The facility’s purpose built
production area will include provisions for up to 16,000 square feet of
cleanroom space for substrate fabrication, coating and optomechanical
assembly. The building, planned for completion by the end of 2003, will
house all of ARO’s production, management and administrative functions.
“This expansion will enable us to continue growing our optical
polishing and coating business, as well as provide space for our
developing optomechanical assembly enterprise,” reports ARO President
David Collier. “We already have planning permission for an additional
35,000 square feet of manufacturing and research space, and ultimately
envision a state-of-the-art campus on the property. This will give us all
the resources necessary to continue developing cutting edge deep
ultraviolet and high damage threshold laser optics and
sub-assemblies.”
