ARO Strengthens Position in Optomechanical Assembly
ARO has enhanced
its capabilities in optomechanical assembly with the hire of Mark
Anderson, Ph.D., as Manager of the company’s Optical Systems Group. In
this role, Anderson will be responsible for the development of custom, OEM
solutions for mounted optics, assemblies and optomechanical
subsystems.
Anderson
received his Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from Arizona State University.
His experience includes 20 years of employment at Spectra-Physics, where
he founded and managed that organization’s Optical Systems
Division.
“We’ve been
involved with producing custom optomechanical assemblies for the past few
years,” notes ARO President David Collier. “Mark’s task will be to evolve
that effort to the next level. Under his leadership we will produce more
sophisticated subassemblies and achieve higher levels of integration. His
expertise will also enable us to pursue contract engineering for OEMs,
with an emphasis on delivering assemblies that reduce cost and improve
quality.”
Additionally,
Glen Dunn has joined ARO as a Sales Engineer. His responsibilities will
include the development and implementation of a strategic sales and
marketing plan, as well as sustaining support of existing customers. Dunn
has over 10 years of experience in the photonics industry, and was most
recently employed at United Lens Company where he managed the Service
Center.
